2025: AB928 Rogers - I stopped the bill to legalize cock fighting in California. This bill was sponsored by Humane World for Animals and supported by Social Compassion for Animals in Legislation.
2024: Successful closure in a case against Humane Society of the United States and Wayne Pacelle (name changed to Humane World for Animals) for illegal actions against me and my company, Political Animals.
2021: Submitted my written version of the federal bill to stop horse slaughter nationally to Chris Heyde of Blue Marble Advocates in D.C. for consideration.
2019: Prop 6 in 1997 made the slaughter and eating of California horses a felony. AB128, sponsored by American Wild Horse Campaign and brought to Todd Gloria by representatives of the American Wild Horse Campaign and The Humane Society of the United States tried to reduce Prop 6 from a felony to a misdemeanor but failed, due to the tireless work of the original team that got Proposition 6 passed in 1997. FYI, it is a constitutional law in California that no one can turn over a statewide proposition with a legislative bill. Why then did Jennifer Fearing, Suzanne Roy, Puja Navalny, Bill Monning, Mark Stone and Todd Gloria try to diminish a successful working law from a felony to a misdemeanor? There are only three reasons, money, fame (undeserved) and or ignorance of the law. Yes, they used their bill for fundraising by pretending to get a law passed and they glorify themselves while doing it. Or perhaps these named lobbyists and legislators are unaware of California law? Proposition 6 has been used to rescue horses four times! That has been done by law enforcement but never by anyone in the humane community.
2017: Successfully lobbied to prevent Monterey Downs race track from being built at the former Fort Ord in Seaside.
2017: Fought to stop The Humane Society of the United States and Animal Protection Institute (now merged with Born Free) from turning over SB1128. The Pet Store Bill (fourteen pages protecting puppies and kittens that was so strong and thorough that all The Doctor's Pet Stores left California). Nicole Pacquette's bill in 2017 even took away WATER in the puppies and kittens cages. Supported by ALL the humane organizations in California! The only opposition was the Los Angeles County District Attorney, led by his lobbyist Jim Provenza, The California Police Chiefs led by their lobbyist John Lovell and Sherry DeBoer who was the lobbyist with Jim Provenza on the 1992 successful bill SB1128.
All the Doctor's Pet Stores left California in 1992, the year that the Lockyer bill passed. In fact there were no longer any pet stores selling puppies or kittens in California! In 2017, Nicole Pacquette, the legislative chair for The Humane Society of The United States tried to turn over the Lockyer successful SB1128. Pacquette got every humane organization in the state of California to endorse her bill which took Lockyer bill's SB1128 felony for cruelty to puppies and kittens down to 3 warnings and an infraction. An infraction is like a parking ticket. I was unable to stop HSUS and PETA and LASPCA and all from doing that. Why? Let me ask YOU? Do these organizations make money and get fame from lying and pretending that THEY got a humane bill passed when THEY DID NOT? Amazingly, the lobbyist for the pet stores told me that Nicole Pacquette OFFERED them no protection for the puppies! The pet store industry and representatives DID NOT ASK for it and were shocked when she gave them the puppies with no consequences for cruelty.
2002: GOTV for Senator David Roberti two times.

2000: Sherry DeBoer brought evidence to Attorney General Bill Lockyer who sent me to District Attorney Ed Jagels in Kern County. DA Jagels put ADA Scott Spielman on the case with investigator Steve Shaw. Ernie Jones Auction was raided twice. One hundred California horses were rescued off the kill floor in Nebraska and Central Nebraska Packing was shut down for three years.
1999: Worked with residents in Lindsay, CA and Attorney General Lockyer to ban the killing of animals using stanchions. The great ladies who contacted me to be their lobbyist were Dixie Keeley and Sharon Kieffer. (Please see Thank You Letters.)
1998: Co-sponsor and co-director of successful California initiative that made the slaughter and eating of California equines a felony.
1998: I personally hired and paid attorney Joe Remcho to sue the Libertarian Party to remove their lies about Prop.6 from the California Voter's Guide. We won even though lying in the voter's guide is legal.
1997: Political Animals merged with David Roberti's ROAR (Respect Our Animal Rights).
1997: John Lovell and Sherry DeBoer ran the campaign to prevent their republican king, Bill Hoge from being re-elected to the California assembly. Read more.
1995: Lobbyist for SB15, authored by Senator Alan Robbins, which made it a felony/misdemeanor to steal any type of animal for use or sale for any commercial purpose including medical research and slaughter (horses included).
1994: Sponsor and lobbyist of bill that changed the universal birth date of racehorses to the foaling date. This means all racehorses in California cannot race until they are legally two years old from the day the mare gives birth.
1993: Lobbied to kill bill AB1418 that would have legalized any games involving horses. If this bill had passed, it would have been legal, for example, to bet on Clydesdales dragging ponies around a race track.
1993: Lobbied to kill bill that would have allowed an owner or trainer who has been caught illegally drugging his/her racehorse to keep the purse.
1993: SB2124 - Established stringent standards in retail pet stores for puppies and kittens and forced all pet stores selling puppies and kittens out of California
1992: Lobbied and wrote significant parts of Lockyer bill SB1128 that established stringent standards in retail pet stores for puppies and kittens. This bill put the Doctor's Pet Stores out of business in California.
1992: SB1128 - I wrote the line about the size of cages, big enough so that the animal can stand up, sit down, lie down and turn around without any part of the animals' body touching the top or sides of the cage in Lockyer's Pet Store Bill. This was copied in an initiative for the size of chickens' cages an upheld by the 9th circuit court of appeals when challenged. This bill SB1128 put ALL pet stores that sold dogs and cats out of business in the state of California!
1990/1991/1992: Lobbied to prevent passage of bill AB1720 that would have reclassified ostriches as poultry and allowed the fraud of Ostrich farming to take hold in California. Lobbied this for three years until the fad passed.
